DLP LCD television deals are
great!
Are You Still Wondering The
Difference In TV
There are great DLP LCD
television deals everywhere as the Digital
Light Processing DLP technology is fast catching the
market. Everyone’s
looking for deals so that they can get rid of their present
TV and go for the state of the art digital light processing
DLP TV. Some people are still wondering the difference
between a normal TV and a DLP TV. The answer is simple.
Both these TVs are
projection TVs. But the DLP TV uses a new technology which is
known as Digital Light Processing or DLP. In the Digital Light
Processing technology there is a chip commonly known as the DMD
or Digital Micromirror Devise.
The secret in this
chip or Digital Miromirror Device DMD is that it contains
over a million microscopic mirrors which
work in conjugation with a ring known as the colour
wheel.
The Colour wheel rotates at very high speed
and the light that passes through the wheel produces high
resolution images on the screen. The image that is
displayed on the screen is lighter and thinner in contract
to the conventional CRT based projection TVs.
Further, unlike the conventional projection
TV there re not separate chips for the three colours red
green and blue. The single DMD chip does the functions of
the three conventional colour chips.
Another advantage with Digital
Light Processing DLP Technology is that it can
receive signals in either 720p or 1080i. Which every signal
the broadcaster may use, the TV with the DLP technology
will convert the 1080i to 720p for display.
This is another
advantage in Televisions that use the Digital Light Processing
DLP technology.
-
Some people wonder whether they would need any
converters to watch HDTV signals relayed by the
broadcaster on the Televisions with DLP technology.
-
In the case of TV with
DLP technology it will not be necessary to have
any additional equipment or converters.
-
Today most cable TV operators provide HDTV channels
as a part of their service and thus eliminating the
need for separate unit or tuner.
-
Digital Light Processing or DLP is the only
technology that offers all digital display
solutions.
-
Today, all digital projectors too use the Digital
Light Processing DLP technology.
Toshiba a giant in the consumer products
industry in Asia combines the Texas
Instruments DLP technology together with their own
‘Xtreme BLAC’ (Black Level Aperture Control) and ‘DEEP picture’
technologies to provide improved brightness and contrast on
high resolution which gives crystal clear picture quality.
Toshiba has also added a novel feature to their
DLP TV. Toshiba calls this the THINC (Toshiba Home Interactive
Network Connection) Technology.
This feature permits you to connect your
Television to your Laptop or personal computer and play MP3
audios and JPEG pictures using the remote control of your
TV.
All Toshiba DLP TV come with digital cable
cards slots and user friendly channel navigation.
Other Asian consumer product giants are incorporating
Digital Light Processing DLP technology of Texas Instruments
with their additional features. One such feature is
the provision of a ‘back’ button on TVs that allows you to
browse recently viewed channels.
