wide screen plasma tv
warranty is good
The
Televisions Guarantee Is Only Good for The Original
Buyer
Buying a
Wide Screen Plasma TV Warranty is
very important as a plasma TV costs several times more than
a conventional TV. What is a waranty?
In simple language, it is a guarantee
provided by the manufacturer to the purchaser that the product
you are buying will be replaced or made good if anything goes
wrong with its performance within a specific period of
time.
The period of time will be specific and will be specified in
the guarantee card that you will get from the manufacturer or
the merchant when you buy the product. When you buy an
expensive product, you must be more careful about the
warranty.
The warranty will usually cover defect due to
manufacture’s fault. Manufacture’s fault
may be seen if the picture does not appear perfect of the
screen are any of the features that are described in the
owner’s manual of the Plasma TV is not functioning as
described.
During the warranty period, if you encounter any defects
in the Plasma TV the manufacturer or his authorised agent
will repair it to work properly.
The cost of the repair including any spare parts and
labour charges will be borne by the manufacturer.
If the repair is not satisfactory and if the defect is
persistent you can always ask the manufacturer or his
authorised agent to replace the Plasma TV with a new
one.
A Plasma TV warranty is valid only to the
original purchaser. If you sell or give the Plasma TV to
another, the warranty will not be valid. If the Plasma TV is
found defective and you get it opened by any technician on
your own, you risk the warranty becoming null and void.
One of the conditions
in any warranty is that, in case of a defect, it must be
referred to the manufacturer or his authorised agent and you
should not try to meddle with it on your own.
However,
when you buy Plasma TVs at a bargain sale or at discounted
prices you may not get the full warranty that you may get
when buying at normal prices.
You should clarify this position with
the merchant before you conclude the sale. You shall also
ensure that the merchant enters the date and place of purchase
of the TV on the warranty card.
It is much advisable that you keep the
purchase receipt attached to the warranty card. Warranty cards
should be carefully preserved so that you can produce to the
merchant or the manufacturer’s service centre it in case of any
defect in the product that you purchased.
There is also something called an extended warranty. This
warranty is an extension of the manufacturer's normal warranty
on the equipment for an additional period specified.
Similarly, there is something called limited
warranty. This for example may be like the screen
panel or any other specific equipment may not be covered
whereas all other will be. So, if anything happens to the panel
you will have to bear the cost of repairs to it and the
manufacturer will not take responsibility.
